“Burnout is not a character flaw. It is what happens when a woman with too many open loops finally runs out of thread. Closing them is not giving up on your dreams. It is how you build the capacity to actually hold them.”
I walked three miles around Sloan’s Lake this morning with my husband in the September sun.
It was the first real thing I had done outside in almost three weeks. The day I got home from the cabin in New Hampshire, I came down with a 103.5 fever, a brutal cough, and the kind of fatigue that makes you question everything. Three weeks of being sick right on top of what I now understand was full burnout.
My body had more to say apparently.
This is the Aries Full Moon. My moon. My sign. My once-a-year spotlight. And I want to tell you something real about what it feels like to be an Aries who burns too bright for too long.
We do not do low vitality gracefully. We do not rest easily. We are fire signs who believe, somewhere deep in our cells, that the answer to every problem is more action, more momentum, more doing. And when that drive is paired with big dreams and an entrepreneurial spirit and a genuine desire to help people, it can look a lot like dedication right up until the moment it becomes destruction.
I named it this month. Out loud, to myself, on a point on a lake in New Hampshire with loons calling across the water.
Burnout. That is what this was.
Not weakness. Not failure. Not a sign that I am not cut out for this life. Rather, a sign that I had too many open loops, too much striving, too many simultaneous reaches toward too many desires. And somewhere in all of that reaching, I stopped tending the most important things. My relationship. My body. My mornings. My joy.
The Aries Full Moon is here to illuminate exactly that gap. The space between where you are and where you dream of being. And it is asking you, clearly and without apology, to stop trying to close that gap all at once.
This moon sits between Saturn and Neptune in Aries. Structure and dreams, side by side, illuminated. Where have you let the dream pull you so far from reality that the gap itself became the source of your exhaustion? Where have you been so focused on what is not yet here that you stopped seeing what actually is?
Venus goes retrograde in one week. She is already slowing down, asking you to look at your desires more honestly. Not to abandon them. To understand them. To ask which ones are truly yours and which ones you picked up from someone else’s highlight reel.
This is the moon for that reckoning.
I walked around the lake this morning and I felt something shift. The Lioness, my inner power animal, is waking back up. Not at full roar yet. But she is awake. And she has a very different plan than the one that burned her out.

::MANIFEST WITH THE MOON::
Aries Full Moon: Direction, Not Force
Aries energy is fire. Instinct. The impulse to act before you think, to leap before you look, to want everything now and start everything immediately.
The gift of this Full Moon is maturity. Aries maturing its willpower from impulsive to intentional. The same fire, directed with more precision. Less scattershot. More arrow.
And I know. Right now you might be brimming. Ideas arriving fast, energy high, the urge to start three new things before the weekend is over. That is Aries. That is this moon. I feel it too.
But here is what I want you to hear before you launch into all of it:
Full moons are for closing, not opening. Every new moon plants a seed. Every full moon asks you to harvest, release, and clear the ground so the next seed has somewhere to land. This IS the harvest moon after all. The most powerful thing you can do with this Aries fire right now is aim it at what is already unfinished.
Not because the new ideas are not worth pursuing. But because your nervous system cannot fully show up for what is next when it is still running tabs on everything that came before.
Here is what I have been sitting with this week.
I have so many desires. A home I own. A business that thrives without requiring me to burn myself down to fuel it. A body that feels strong and responds to me. A relationship that gets the best of me, not just what is left over after everything else. Travel. Freedom. Time.
I am sure you have many of the same.
And I realized, sitting with the flu and the quiet and the fatigue, that the problem was never the desires. The problem was trying to reach for all of them at once, in every direction, simultaneously, with the nervous system of a woman who needed rest.
Burnout does not come from working hard. It comes from too many open loops running at the same time. Too many unfinished things humming in the background, drawing on your energy even when you are not consciously working on them.
Let this last quarter of 2026 be dedicated to closing loops. Not opening new ones.
That is my intention going into this cozy fall season. Close what is open. Finish what got started. Go into January with a clean slate and a clear plan, not a pile of half-built things competing for attention.
What loops have you been leaving open? What have you been starting without finishing? What are you still reaching for that could actually wait until your nervous system has the capacity to hold it well?
The nervous system has to feel safe first. Direction then follows. Not the other way around.
::RITUAL ALCHEMY::
Ritual is the repeatable act. The thing you do again tomorrow.
Alchemy is the inner shift it creates. The moment the body begins to believe a new story is safe.
Full moon intentions are releases. What you let go of in the next two weeks creates space for what the next new moon plants.
Journal Prompts:
✦ Where have I been reaching for everything at once and calling it ambition when it was actually anxiety?
✦ What open loops are quietly draining my energy right now? Which ones can I close, release, or simply decide are not mine to carry?
✦ Where in my life is the gap between my dream and my current reality causing me the most suffering? What would it feel like to make peace with the pace?
✦ Where have I been giving my power away? To overwork, to other people’s opinions, to a version of success that does not actually feel like mine?
✦ If I stopped being scared of getting it wrong, what would I do? Write the first thing that comes. Do not edit it. That is the answer.
One of mine: I am releasing the belief that I have to reach for everything at once to prove I am serious about my dreams. I am serious. And I am also a human woman with a body that needs tending. Both things are true. The pace I build from now is going to feel different. Slower on the surface. More powerful underneath.
Intention Setting:
Aries intentions are bold and specific. This moon does not respond to vague.
Instead of “I want more balance” write “I protect my relationship, my body, and my mornings before I give anything to my business.”
Instead of “I want to stop burning out” write “I close two open loops this week and do not start anything new until they are done.”
Write yours. Then do the first thing on it today.
Somatic Practice: The Lion’s Roar Release
This is for the fire signs and anyone who has been holding things in too long.
✦ Stand with your feet hip-width apart. Soften your knees.
✦ Take a slow deep inhale through your nose for 4 counts.
✦ At the top of the inhale, hold for 2 counts and feel the pressure build.
✦ Open your mouth wide, stick your tongue out, and exhale with a loud forceful HA. Let it be big. Let it be a little ridiculous.
✦ Let your shoulders drop completely on the exhale.
✦ Repeat 5 times.
This practice releases tension held in the jaw, throat, and chest, the places where Aries holds its unexpressed fire. It activates the vagus nerve through the throat and signals the parasympathetic nervous system to downregulate. It also just feels really good after weeks of being sick and exhausted and quietly furious at yourself for being human.
Let it out. You have earned that roar.
::SEASONAL RECIPE::
Fall Harvest Salad with Maple Vinaigrette
The salad that tastes like fall in a bowl and makes you feel taken care of
I have been craving fall food hard this week. Squash, warm spices, something that feels like the season has arrived and your body is welcome in it. This salad delivers all of that and doubles as a complete meal.
Ingredients (serves 4):
✦ 4 cups butternut squash, cubed and roasted
✦ 4 cups chopped lacinato kale, briefly massaged
✦ 6 cups mixed spring greens
✦ 2 cups cooked shredded chicken or leftover salmon, flaked
✦ 1 Honeycrisp apple, cored and diced
✦ 2/3 cup pecans, toasted and roughly chopped
✦ 1/3 cup dried cranberries
✦ 1/2 cup shaved Manchego or Parmesan
For the maple vinaigrette:
✦ 1/4 cup good olive oil
✦ 1/4 cup white balsamic vinegar
✦ 2 tbsp minced shallot
✦ 1 tbsp pure maple syrup
✦ 2 tsp Dijon mustard
✦ Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Roast squash at 400F with olive oil, salt and pepper for 25 to 30 minutes, tossing halfway. Toast pecans in the same oven for 8 minutes. Massage kale briefly then toss with spring greens in a large bowl. Arrange all toppings over the greens. Whisk vinaigrette ingredients together and drizzle over everything. Season to taste and serve.
Why this works:
Butternut squash is rich in beta-carotene, vitamin C, and potassium, all of which support immune function and adrenal recovery, exactly what a body needs coming out of illness and burnout. Kale delivers magnesium, iron, and folate, three minerals most women in the 35+ window are depleted in and that show up as fatigue, brain fog, and stalled recovery when they are low. Quality protein from chicken or salmon provides the amino acids your body needs to rebuild tissue, support neurotransmitter production, and convert thyroid hormone into its active form. Pecans add zinc and healthy fats that support hormone balance. The apple brings natural sweetness with fiber for blood sugar stability. The maple vinaigrette uses white balsamic, which is gentler on digestion than red and adds a brightness that makes the whole bowl sing.
This is not diet food. This is recovery food. There is a difference and your body knows it.
::FOUNDATIONS::
Spotlight: Closing Loops as a Nervous System Practice
Every unfinished thing, every half-started project, every decision you have been putting off, every plan you made and have not acted on, draws on your cognitive and physiological resources even when you are not consciously thinking about it. Your nervous system is tracking all of it in the background. Running a quiet tab. And that tab has a cost.
This comes from what psychologists call the Zeigarnik effect: our minds hold onto incomplete tasks with more tension and urgency than completed ones. We literally cannot fully rest in the presence of too many open loops because the brain will not let us forget them.
This is why burnout so often feels like exhaustion even when you have not technically done that much. It is not always the doing. It is the carrying of everything that is still undone.
The nervous system regulation practice for Q4 is simple and unsexy.
Make a list of everything open. Close one thing today. Not ten. One. Finish it, decide it, delegate it, or officially let it go. Then notice what your nervous system does in the space that creates.
This is what I am doing with my business right now. Simplifying. Finishing what I started. Saying no to new starts until the existing things are done. It is the most nervous-system-friendly decision I have made all year and it made me exhale in a way no supplement has matched.
Close a loop today. Your nervous system will thank you.

Tomorrow Mars enters Leo.
I have been waiting for this for six weeks without fully knowing it. The vitality is coming back. The fire is coming back. The Lioness is shaking herself awake after a long, necessary rest.
But I am not sprinting out of the gate this time.
I am walking around the lake with my husband first. Making dinner together. Playing Catan tonight. Waking up early tomorrow leaf peeping then making hatch chili.
The dream is still there. It has not gone anywhere. I am just going to reach for it in a way that does not require me to burn myself down to hold it.
That is what this Aries Full Moon wisdom is offering me. You do not have to be on fire to be powerful. You just have to know where you are pointing the flame.
With so much love and a body that is finally starting to exhale,
Sera
