“If you expect life to treat you sweetly, you need to show up sweetly to life.”
It is October in Colorado, and the mornings are cold and dark and the afternoons are still golden and warm and I have started waking up thirty minutes before my husband just to sit with that.
Candle lit. Palo Santo burning. My meditation pillow. The red light for my gums, the heated eye mask, the breathwork that starts slow and builds into something that feels less like a practice and more like a homecoming. I imagine my aura expanding with every inhale and contracting with every exhale. My spirit mingling with something vast and old and kind. My ancestors in the circle. The great mystery present in the pitch black of an October morning in Denver.
I come out of it a different person than I went in.
This is not productivity. This is not optimization. This is what it feels like when your life finally has a little room in it. When you stop filling every hour with output and start filling some of them with yourself.
That is the invitation the Libra New Moon is extending right now.

My husband and I leaf-peeping and exploring new parts of Colorado (this was Grand Lake, CO – my new fav town!)
::MANIFEST WITH THE MOON::
Balance is not a destination you arrive at and maintain. It is a continuous, living act of recalibration.
Libra is the sign of the scales. The sign of fairness, beauty, partnership, and the deep intelligence that knows when something has tipped too far. It does not ask for perfection. It asks for honesty. It asks: what has been heavy, and what has been neglected, and are you willing to bring them back into conversation?
This new moon is potent. Sitting in a nourishing sextile to Jupiter, the planet of abundance, our intentions carry extra momentum right now. But the new moon also sits opposite Saturn, the planet of structure and practical limits, which means this is not a moon for fantasies without foundations. Saturn is asking: is this desire built on something real? Can you hold it?
Venus is currently retrograde, which means she has slipped beneath the surface to reflect and retrieve. Venus rules this lunation, and her retrograde is not a setback. It is an invitation to go back before you go forward. What have you abandoned of yourself in the push toward your desires? What part of your life has been running on empty while the rest of you kept moving?
Meanwhile, Mars in Leo burns bold and forward. There is tension between these two energies, the urge to shine outward and the call to turn inward first, and that tension is not a problem to solve. It is the most useful creative friction you can work with this cycle.
Here is where the astrology becomes a practice:
Manifestation is not about wanting hard enough. It is about becoming the vibrational match for what you want to call in. And your nervous system is the single most powerful lever you have for shifting that signal.
A contracted, pressured, burned-out nervous system does not broadcast abundance. It broadcasts urgency, scarcity, and need. That signal pulls in more of the same. Not because the universe is cruel. Because that is how frequency works.
This is why your environment is not a luxury. The music you put on. The sunlight you let yourself stand in. The meal you cook with intention rather than speed. The act of sitting still for ten minutes before your phone tells you what the day requires of you. These are not self-care treats. They are recalibration tools. They are how you change the frequency you live in.
Venus retrograde is asking you to retrieve yourself before you reach outward. What part of you got buried in the last few months? What did you quietly stop doing that used to make you feel like yourself?
And Mars in Leo is still burning, still calling you toward your boldness and power. The invitation of this moon is to let both be true. To go inward first and come outward stronger. To build the inner alignment that makes the outer action actually land.
Because sweetness is a frequency. Abundance is a frequency. And the more you embody those states in your daily moments, the more you become a match for the life you are trying to call in.
You cannot manifest from a state of depletion. But a body that feels cared for, a nervous system that has exhaled, a woman who has tended to herself with the same devotion she brings to everything and everyone else? That body becomes magnetic.
That is what we are planting this cycle.
Journal prompts for the Libra New Moon:
✦ Where have the scales tipped in my life, and what would it feel like to let them gently recalibrate?
✦ What is one relationship that deserves more of my presence this cycle?
✦ What is one act of sweetness I can offer myself, starting today, that has nothing to do with productivity?
✦ Where am I swimming upstream, and what would it feel like to turn around and let the current carry me for a little while?
✦ What does alignment feel like in my body? When did I last feel it? What were the conditions?
✦ If I showed up to my own life as sweetly as I hope life treats me, what would be different tomorrow?
Setting your intention:
Write it in present tense. Embody the feeling before the evidence arrives.
“I am in beautiful, flowing balance. I tend to myself and those I love with equal care. I move through my days with ease, sweetness, and an open heart.”
Place it where you will see it every morning. The next two weeks are your growing season.
::RITUAL ALCHEMY::
Ritual is the repeatable act. Alchemy is the inner shift it creates. The moment your body starts believing the new choice is safe, possible, and real.
New moons are for planting. For writing your intention into the fertile ground of what you have cleared and composted over the last cycle. This Libra New Moon calls for intentions rooted in equilibrium, in relationship, in the willingness to be in balance with yourself before you ask for balance from the world.
Your intention this cycle starts with: “I intend to…”
✦ “I intend to bring sweetness to my daily rituals and let that sweetness ripple outward.”
✦ “I intend to be in loving relationship with my own body, my own time, and my own energy.”
✦ “I intend to recalibrate gently when I drift, without judgment and without drama.”
✦ “I intend to make space for the things that actually fill me up, not just the things that make me useful.”
Now the physiology:
There is a reason your body feels more dysregulated when your life feels out of balance, and it is not poetic. It is physiological.
Your nervous system is a pattern-recognition machine. When the environment you live in, the pace, the inputs, the relational safety, is constantly activating your stress response, your body adapts by staying in mild fight-or-flight even when there is no immediate threat. Cortisol rhythms flatten. Sleep architecture degrades. Blood sugar becomes reactive. And the fat loss response, which requires a body that feels safe, simply does not happen.
Alignment is not a spiritual luxury. It is a physiological requirement for the results you are after.
When you bring in the small inputs that signal safety to your nervous system, soft morning light, music while you cook, daily movement that feels pleasurable rather than punishing, time in nature, rituals that slow your exhale, your body starts to exhale at a cellular level. The HPA axis begins to regulate. Cortisol finds its natural rhythm. And the body that had been bracing finally starts to respond.
That is not woo. That is the biology of recalibration.
Quick wins for this cycle:
✦ Sunlight in your eyes before your screen. Even five minutes changes your cortisol arc for the entire day.
✦ One non-negotiable morning ritual before anything is asked of you. Five minutes counts. Do it first.
✦ Movement every day, even a ten-minute walk, that you do because it feels good, not because it burns calories.
✦ One meal a day that you cook with care, even if the others are simple. Let the act of nourishing yourself be intentional.
✦ An evening wind-down that is actually a signal, not a collapse. Your nervous system needs to know the day is over.

::SEASONAL INSPO::
Calling in this cycle:
✦ Herbal tea in the morning before breakfast, before the coffee. Let the first thing you taste be something that settles you rather than wires you. I am calling that in for this new moon, a slow ceremonial morning tea before anything else asks for my attention.
✦ Hermanos Gutierrez on a slow Saturday morning. Put on the new album and then let Spotify carry you. The playlist that follows is its own kind of medicine.
✦ Leaf peeping. Deliberately. Not as a backdrop to somewhere you are going, but as the actual destination. Colorado right now is unreal.
✦ Hearty salads and soups and warm breakfasts. The body wants cooked, grounded, nourishing food right now. Follow that instinct.
✦ The last of the season’s tomatoes. If you have golden cherry tomatoes still popping off, use every single one. Roast them. Put them on everything. That sweetness will not be there in three weeks.
✦ More intimacy. With yourself, with your friends, with your lover. Not the performance of connection but the actual thing. A real conversation. A long hug. A slow evening with nowhere to be.
✦ Live music. If something is playing near you this month, go. There is nothing like being in a room where something beautiful is happening in real time.
✦ Moving your body every hour, even for two minutes. Ten squats. Ten bridge lifts. A few hip sways. Bound angle on the floor. Stagnation is a pelvic health issue, a nervous system issue, a creative issue. You were not designed to sit still for six hours and call it a productive day.
✦ Slow, calm playlists and open windows. Let the October air in.
Letting go:
✦ Doing everything yourself. The solo sprint is exhausting and it is not required. Let someone in.
✦ The constant need to be somewhere else. Stay home this month. Be where you are. Denver in October is genuinely beautiful and my nervous system is thanking me for the stillness.
✦ Procrastinating the things that actually nourish you. Your rituals are not the reward for finishing your to-do list. They are what make the to-do list manageable.
✦ Tightness. In your schedule, in your shoulders, in your hips. Take the break. Roll your neck. Stretch for three minutes between tasks. Your body is asking.
✦ The idea that busy means productive. Some of the most important things happening in you right now are quiet.
::MOVEMENT RITUAL::
When the nervous system needs to recalibrate, the body wants something slow, grounding, and reciprocal. Not output. Return.
Do this 2 to 3 times this cycle. Especially on the days you feel the most stretched between everything you are holding.
Warm-up (1 to 2 minutes)
✦ Stand with feet hip-width apart. Soften your knees.
✦ Let your arms hang. Take three slow breaths.
✦ Roll your shoulders back and down. Feel the weight of gravity. Let it hold you.
1. Grounded standing sway
Stand with feet slightly wider than hip-width. Begin to gently sway side to side, letting the weight shift from foot to foot.
✦ 2 minutes
✦ Close your eyes if it feels safe. Let the movement be small, slow, and rhythmic.
This activates the vestibular system and sends a direct signal to your brainstem: we are safe, we are balanced, we can regulate.
2. Low lunge with heart opener
Step one foot forward into a low lunge, back knee down. Place both hands on your front thigh. Gently lift through the chest, open through the heart.
✦ 5 full breaths each side
✦ Breathe into your ribcage. This is the antidote to the collapsed chest posture of a woman who has been carrying too much.
3. Reclined bound angle (Supta Baddha Konasana)
Lie on your back. Bring the soles of your feet together and let your knees fall open. Place one hand on your chest, one on your belly.
✦ Stay here for 3 to 5 minutes
✦ Breathe slow. Exhale longer than your inhale.
This is one of the most powerful nervous system restoration postures available to you. It is not doing nothing. It is doing something your body has been waiting for.
4. Seated side body opening
Sit comfortably. Reach one arm long overhead, lean gently to the opposite side.
✦ 5 full breaths each side
✦ Longer exhale than inhale. Let the side body open. That is where you have been holding your breath.
Close:
One hand on your chest. One on your belly. Three slow breaths.
On the last exhale: “I am in balance. I am enough. I am allowed to be here.”

There is a quote that has been living in my kitchen lately.
“If you expect life to treat you sweetly, you need to show up sweetly to life.”
I read it a few weeks ago and it hit me somewhere specific. Because so much of what I had been doing for months was white-knuckling toward my desires from a contracted, pressured, anything-but-sweet frequency. And wondering why the things I most wanted kept staying just out of reach.
This Libra New Moon is asking me to embody the life I want to call in. To be soft before I earn it. To be generous before it comes back to me. To cook the beautiful dinner not because everything is figured out, but because beauty is something I can offer right now, today, with what I have.
That is alignment. And that is where the magic lives.
With love,
Sera
